Hey guys! We're so excited to introduce a new series, all about summer intensives! Who's pumped??? OK, let's begin:

Welcome to our five week summer intensive series! Today we'll be talking about what you should pack.
You should begin by packing everything on a regular dance bag packing list. This includes hair supplies like a hair donut, a brush, ponytail holders, 5 million bobby pins, headbands, hair gel, hairspray, and hair nets. You should also include warm ups, a foldable water bottle, a yoga mat and towel, a notebook, a book, and a theraband.
You should bring at least 5 different leotards, one for each day in case you can't get to a washing machine before the end of the week, and at least 3 of those should be the company's (ex: Joffrey Ballet School, New York City Ballet, American Ballet Theater, etc.), just in case none others are allowed. Bring lots of pairs of tights as well.
Bring one to two pairs of pointe shoes for every week you are staying. For example, if you're staying for 2 weeks, bring anywhere from 2 to 4 pairs. If you will be away for 5 weeks, bring at least 5-10 pairs of pointe shoes. Make sure the pointe shoes are already sewn. Remember to bring multiple pairs of ballet shoes as well.
Some extra dance things to pack are a nude leotard (for the show), makeup supplies (for dance show and everyday, if needed), a studio jacket, ballet booties, safety pins, a water bottle, Band- Aids (VERY important), Rock tape, an Icy Hot, highlighter (for highlighting when you dance in the program), and power bars.
For your dorm or hotel room, you'll also want these things: an extra blanket, batteries, phone, phone charger, earphones, pads and tampons, mints or gum, cash and a wallet, a Tide stick, some general medicine, vitamins, an umbrella, journal, books or other things to do, beach towels, sunscreen, sunglasses, pens, and a Sharpie.
Everyday Clothes: pajamas, undergarments, jeans, pants, shorts, shirts, tank tops, sweaters and jackets, bathing suits, hat, a couple dresses, dress shoes or sandals, socks, sneakers, and flip flops.
Bathroom Items: toothbrush, toothpaste, soap, face wash, shampoo and conditioner, deodorant, blow dryer, straightener and curling iron, floss, and mouthwash.
That is one LOOOOOOONG list! I think I covered virtually everything. Good luck this summer!
